Things That Are Funny with Bobby

Okay, I know this video is a little outdated, but this is coming from a guy who didn’t know that a kid crapped his pants sophomore year of high school until two years later.  I mean, he literally pooped himself in school.  He was ridiculed for weeks.  And I completely missed it—just like I missed the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” Literal Video adaptation.

For those of you not familiar with the literal video fad, they’re popular music videos that have been dubbed over to say what’s actually happening instead of the real song lyrics.  The first time I watched this adaptation, I actually had to pause at one point because the convulsions of laughter were impeding my breathing (came shortly after Fonzie’s army of clones took to the screen)

Although “Total Eclipse of the Heart” isn’t the only literal video, it is arguably the best.  “Take on Me” and “The Safety Dance” are other prime examples of 80s culture (read: acid trip with a double side of coke).  While, Enrique Iglesias’s “Hero” and Creed’s “With Arms Wide Open” represent a more up-to-date style of drugged hallucination
